Sean Talamas is the Executive Director of Character Lab, leading the organization in its mission to advance scientific insights that help kids thrive.
A Cuban American from Miami, Sean is a first-generation college graduate who completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology, master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology, and master’s degree in teaching—all while serving on active duty in the U.S. Air Force in special operations. After leaving the military, he completed his Ph.D. in experimental psychology at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), where he developed a passion for leadership, research, and practice. Sean serves as a member of the advisory board at Behavioral Scientist and as an advisor to various K-12 research and development initiatives.
In his free time, Sean enjoys traveling and scuba diving with his wife, as well as hikes around Philadelphia with their dog, Willypete.
